Hello, We are planning to move to Korea at the end of the year. My partner is a Korean citizen. We are planning to stay for 2 to 3 years. We have our SUV that we are planning to import as personal goods, depending on tax payable when imported into Korea. We are planning to export the car back to Australia afterwards. The vehicle details are: * 2016 TOYOTA KLUGER (Japanese brand, manufactured in the USA) * Engine Size: 3500cc * Right Hand Drive (Australian market model) According to some places I have read, the dutiable value looks to be between 52.9% to 64.8% (vehicle will be between 3 to 4 years old) at time of importing. Is the tax paid a portion of the dutiable value or is the dutiable value the amount of tax to be paid? Thank you.

The car tax is as follows. - The taxable price of the tariff * Approximately 26.52% (displacement over 1000cc) - Tax rate of tariff * Approximately 18.8% (Displacement of 1000cc) How to calculate the taxable price of a car. For the new car price listed in the brochure on car prices, blue book, the remaining rate is applied after experiencing the period of use from the first registration date to the import declaration date of the car. Add transportation and insurance premiums at this price. Thank you.
